EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT
PRD ensures an education for rural, vulnerable, and disabled girls and improves the quality of educational services for all 2,000 children in the communes of Samlout and Pailin within the provinces of Battambang and Pailin.
ENVIRONMENT & CONSERVATION
Through programs specially designed by PRD, participants in each province learn environment and bio diversity principles, forestry and the careful management of Cambodia’s protected areas, wildlife protection, human hygiene and sanitation.

AGRICULTURE
PRD and its partner, ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research), help poor, marginalized, and female farmers in the two provinces to adopt modern agricultural technologies and best practices.
GENDER EQUITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Gender equity and women empowerment are fundamental to achieving social justice, economic development, and a sustainable future. These concepts emphasize the need to create a society where men and women have equal opportunities, rights, and access to resources. Gender equity means fairness of treatment for both women and men, according to their respective needs. This may include equal treatment or treatment that is different but considered equivalent in terms of rights, benefits, obligations, and opportunities.
The Royal Government of Cambodia’s long range plan recognizes gender equity as a key component of national development, capacity building and human resource development. Under funding from ETFO (Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario), PRD is a leader in gender equity and women’s empowerment training in the community.

HEALTH
PRD promotes healthy, positive behaviors in adolescent girls by providing practical and relevant information on the health issues they will face as they become young women.
